All you have to do is make sure you have all the ingredients and a non-stick frying pan. We also suggest some sweet and savory crepes ideas to test your culinary skills.

How to make crepes

Below you will find how to make crepes step by step. They will leave your guests speechless.

Ingredients

This is all you need to make crepes. We can add almost anything we want afterward. Luckily, these ingredients are very common in the kitchen and are very easy to find at any store.

  • 2 eggs
  • 5.3 ounces of flour
  • 8.5 ounces of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil for greasing the frying pan
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of brandy
Once the batter is done, we can add whatever comes to our mind to our crepes and have a delicious dish

3 easy steps

Follow these simple steps to make crepes at home.

1. Make the batter

First of all, mix and whisk all the ingredients in a bowl until we get a creamy batter. If it has become too thick we can add more milk. It is advisable to let it rest in the fridge for an hour.

2. Cook it

The second step consists of adding a spoonful of extra virgin olive oil to the non-stick frying pan. If we have a crepe pan, it will not be necessary to grease. When the pan has heated, pour part of the batter with a ladle and spread it. When the bottom starts to brown, we flip it and cook the other side.

The first crepe is usually thrown out, for it contains too much fat and it does not look as it should. Once the first one is done, you will not even have to add oil to the pan.

3. Stack them

A good tip to keep them warm while we are preparing them is to put a saucepan with water over low heat. Place a plate with aluminum foil on top and stack the crepes. Crepes do not stick, so stacking them will not be a problem.

More ideas

Crepes are one of the most versatile recipes we can find. When we are done preparing them, we can add almost anything we can imagine, both sweet and savory. Here is a list with 4 of the most delicious ideas. The possibilities are endless.

Sweet crepes

Sweet crepes are ideal to eat as a dessert. Can you imagine a better way to end a meal?

1. Apple and cinnamon crepes

Cut 3 Granny Smith apples into squares and add them to the frying pan. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of sugar until the apple is golden-brown. Fill the crepe and sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!

Crepes with fruit are another delicious combination for this sweet dessert

2. Nutella crepes

This is one of everyone's favorite recipes and very easy to make at home. Nutella crepe is the queen of sweet crepes. All we have to do is spread Nutella on the crepe and fold it. Instead of Nutella, we can use any type of chocolate spread.

Savory crepes

If you prefer savory rather than sweet crepes, here are 2 of the best recipes.

3. Pesto crepes

This is a curious and very delicious idea. We cut the crepe in strips and, in a frying pan, we heat pesto sauce. When it is hot enough, add it to a plate with the crepes and a few cherry tomatoes.

4. Chicken crepes with spinach and béchamel sauce

A very original recipe. Prepare béchamel sauce and sauté the spinach with oil and garlic. Mix the sautéed and béchamel sauce. Strip and cube chicken breast and grill it. Next, we add the chicken to the previous mix. Last step is to fill the crepe and fold.
