Natural medicine, otherwise known as naturopathy, is an alternative to modern pharmaceuticals that uses plants and dietary and lifestyle changes with the goal of improving health.
Homeopathy or phytotherapy focus on the potential health benefits of medicinal herbs and plants and are both considered a part of natural medicine, or alternative medicine (two concepts that are often used interchangeably). Other alternative therapies like acupuncture are often classified as natural medicine.
Although those that defend natural medicine argue that these kinds of products are less harmful to the human body than modern medicine, this concept is quite controversial. The truth of the matter is that the scientific community generally agrees that this is a pseudoscientific medicine that is not very reliable since there is a lack of scientific studies to back up these claims.
